Study Finds Idaho Ranks No. 1 in Dependency on Firearms Industry

LEWISTON – According to a study conducted by Wallethub, Idaho is the state most economically dependent on the firearms industry in the country.

The personal financial planning website compared and ranked states according to the economic impact guns and the industry have in each state to determine which among them relies most heavily on the gun business. The study looked at the financial impact, both directly for jobs and political contributions and indirectly through ownership.

While Idaho ranks first overall, Wyoming was most reliant on the industry for political contributions and Kentucky ranked first in gun ownership.

Oregon ranked 25 and Washington came in at 33 in overall scores.
