Suspicious Vehicle Contact Results in Seizure of Methamphetamine, Handgun and Paraphernalia

Post Falls, Idaho – In the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 23, 2023, a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of 4200 block of Expo Parkway, in Post Falls, Idaho. The deputy observed a vehicle running, but unoccupied. The deputy also noticed the ignition of the vehicle to be altered, which gave suspicion that the vehicle may have been stolen.

During the course of the investigation, a K9 alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to deputies locating marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.

The occupants of the vehicle were located and identified as Bryce J. Hames, a 34-year-old male from Spokane, Washington and Gabriela Ibarra, a 42-year-old female from Spokane, Washington.

Upon probable cause search of their persons, approximately 4.8 ounces of methamphetamine, a loaded firearm, digital scale and additional paraphernalia were located.

Hames was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for trafficking methamphetamine. Ibarra was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia (Methamphetamine) and possession of paraphernalia (Marijuana).
