(Moscow, Idaho) — The Moscow Historic Preservation Commission and the City of Moscow would like to announce the 2024 Orchid Awards event to be held on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 at 7:00 PM.
The event will take place in the Lecompte Auditorium on second floor of the 1912 Center at 412 East Third Street. The program is free and open to the public and will include refreshments, a key note address by Dr. Shauna Corry, a slide show, and a discussion among the audience and award recipients.
Each year the Moscow Historic Preservation Commission presents the Orchid Awards to recognize outstanding examples of historic preservation and stewardship in the community.
2024 Orchid Award recipients:
- Latah County Historical Society for completing Phase One of its plan to repair or replace endangered windows and frames at the McConnell Mansion.
- Evan and Leslie Wilson for carrying out an extensive program of repairs, restoration, and refinishing of the dramatic “Seven Gables” house at 325 North Polk Street.
- Cynthia King as a Friend of Preservation for outstanding public service on the Moscow Historic Preservation Commission from February, 2020 to September, 2024.
