The Lewiston Police Department Reminds Residents to Practice Sober Driving Over the 4th

(Lewiston, ID) The Lewiston Police Department would like to remind everyone not to drink and drive this 4th of July weekend.

In the past three years, there have been 34 alcohol-related crashes resulting in injury or death in Lewiston. During those three years, there were 509 DUI arrests.

Lewiston Police will have extra officers on this weekend specifically looking for impaired drivers. Lewiston Police have zero tolerance for impaired drivers.

If you choose to drink, plan ahead and have a sober driver to get you home. If you are the designated driver, take the job seriously, do not drink. If you have a friend or family member who has been drinking, do not let them drive, take their keys.

Again, please do not drive impaired, the risks are not worth it.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July.
