Three Vehicle Collision on Bryden Avenue Sends 2 People to Hospital With Minor Injuries

(Lewiston, ID) On 08-27-24 at approximately 9:36 am, Lewiston Police and Lewiston Fire Department responded to an injury crash involving three vehicles in the intersection of 5th St. and Bryden Ave. During the crash investigation, it was determined a white 2009 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 44 yoa Robert Shadduck of Lewiston, was traveling northbound on 5th St. approaching Bryden Ave. Shadduck had the green light. A black 2019 Ford Escape, driven by 69 yoa Raydean Shaw of Lewiston, was traveling westbound on Bryden Ave. approaching the intersection of 5th St. Shaw failed to stop for the red traffic signal and was struck by the Chevrolet Colorado, causing the Ford Edge to spin 90 degrees. A 2004 Ford Taurus, driven by 54 yoa William Moore of Lewiston, was traveling southbound on 5th St. towards Bryden Ave. The initial collision between the Chevrolet Colorado and the Ford Edge cause the Ford Edge to strike the Ford Taurus. 

Due to the collision, two of the drivers were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, and the third driver was treated on scene. All drivers were wearing their seat belts. 

Due to the significant damage to all vehicles involved, tow trucks were needed to remove all three vehicles, and the roadway had to be closed for approximately 1 hour. 

Shaw will be issued an infraction citation for failing to stop for a red traffic signal.
