Lewiston, ID– Twin County United Way will have its annual Breakfast For Dinner fundraiser on Wednesday, April 19, at Waffles n’ More, located at 1421 Main St., in Lewiston.
The event runs 5-8 p.m. and people have the choice of dining in or take out.
Only one meal, “Half the Farm,” will be served. The meal consists of 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausages, 1 egg, a half-order of hash browns, half of a waffle, and toast. Tickets are $12 if purchased ahead of time or $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online ahead of time by visiting https://tcuw.org/breakfast-for-dinner and clicking on the blue “Buy Tickets Now!” box.
When purchasing tickets online, there also is an option to purchase a backpack for a kindergarten student in the Kindergarten Readiness program for $10. The backpack is filled with school supplies they need for the program.
All proceeds from the event benefit TCUW’s Kindergarten Readiness Program in Lewiston, Clarkston, Lapwai and Asotin.
This program identifies children entering kindergarten in the fall who may not be ready for school either academically or socially. Taught by local teachers, the five-week summer program teaches children their numbers, the alphabet, and how to behave in the classroom. Upon successful completion the participating students have a graduation ceremony and are ready to begin kindergarten in the fall.
