Upcoming Field Tours with Palouse Conservation District

(Uniontown, WA) Join Palouse Conservation District and the University of Idaho Extension for a Soil Health and Cropping Systems Tour on Monday, June 24th from 8 am to 12 pm. Local producers will share insights from cover cropping, integration of livestock in small grains rotations, and winter wheat variety trials. The tour will begin four miles south of Uniontown, WA and conclude six miles northeast of Genesee, ID. Participants will travel to a total of four sites. Participants must provide their own transportation between sites. Carpooling is encouraged. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and Certified Crop Adviser credits are available. This event is free and open to the public. Please wear shoes appropriate for walking. Register by Monday, June 17th.

Join Palouse Conservation District, Washington State University, and USDA-ARS for a Precision Agriculture Demonstration Day at Cook Agronomy Farm on Thursday, June 27th from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Cook Agronomy Farm is located five miles northeast of Pullman. Learn about using plant sap analysis to assess crop nutrient needs and view a drone swarm demonstration of variable rate application and spot spraying. WSU and USDA researchers will share information on liming and nitrogen loss in tile drainage. View a Giddings Soil Sampling Coring & Drilling Machine and soil cores, learn about AI drone identification of weeds with USDA-ARS Researcher Joaquin Casanova, and more! Lunch and refreshments are provided. Carpooling is encouraged. This event is free and open to the public. Please wear shoes appropriate for walking. Register by Wednesday, June 19th.
