Vandals Turn Entrepreneurial Ideas into Reality with Cash Prizes at Idaho Pitch

MOSCOW – CBE’s Idaho Pitch is a fast-paced event where student teams pitch their unique products to business leaders and investors while competing for cash prizes.

A few highlights of this year’s pitch include: Team Guide Pass, a Guide Time company, won $5,000. Their digital rewards program tracks the economic impact of guides, outfitters, and the clients they bring to communities. Congratulations to Idaho‘s College of Natural Resources Ethan Leininger and Nathan Lothspeich.

SafeFlate, an Idaho Engineering and Business student team won over $5,000 at this year’s Idaho Pitch. Their children’s swim shirt uses sensors to detect signs of drowning. Once biological criteria are met, a hidden inflatable will inflate the shirt to keep the child’s head above water. Great job Mitch Beitia, Katie Kinson, Jaeda Schnurle, and Jake Stubbers.

Team Arbitrage Event Management, including Uidaho Law student Yangoubo Liu and marketing student Colt Sherrell, won $1,250. The University stated they can’t recall ever seeing a student hustle a room of investor judges like Liu at this competition. Well played!

Until Golden, a team of College of Letter Arts and Science students, won $750 at this year’s Idaho Pitch. Congratulations to Jocelyn Moffitt, Sophia Wieber, Deanna Kienbaum and Sanuja Dahal.

Team Elite Smart Pump, including Idaho College of Business and Economics masters of accountancy duo Matt Pratt and Jesse Rasaka, won $500 for a pump that gauges PSI for optimal pressure as it inflates river rafts.
