GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four LC State Baseball players earned CSC Academic All-District honors, announcing College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
“This is an exceptional honor for these four young men, and we are very proud of their effort and dedication,” Head Coach Jake Taylor said. “To excel on the diamond and in the classroom speaks volumes about their character and work ethic.”
Joe Ball earned the distinction for the second time in his career, while Greg Blackman, Joe Canty and Bryson Spagnuolo took home their first honors.
Blackman is an All-Cascade Conference selection this season and had a key role in the bullpen with a team-best 1.87 ERA. Ball and Spagnuolo also played a big part in the LC State bullpen this season.
Canty was an important bat off the bench for the Warriors this season with a .262 batting average.
A student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve to be eligible for CSC Academic All-District. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.
