Greenwood, Ind. – (Release from LC State College Athletics) College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) released the CSC Academic All-District At-Large teams on Tuesday and five LC State golfers earned the honor.
Seniors Devon Caruso, Jorgen Lie Viken and Alexandra Schmidt earned the honor, as did juniors Deana Caruso and Kyla Currie.
“Very proud of the accomplishments in the classroom,” Head Coach Zach Anderson said. Being a student-athlete is a full-time job so to see the success in the classroom and on the course is outstanding. We hold academics to a high level on our team and these players achieved above and beyond.”
All five Warriors earned All-Cascade Conference honors and Viken was tabbed the Cascade Conference Golfer of the Year. He advanced to the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship and tied for 37th as an individual.
A student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve to be eligible for CSC Academic All-District. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.
