CORVALLIS, Ore. – Both Lewis-Clark State Golf teams were named Cascade Conference Under Armour Co-Teams of the Week, announced by the conference office on Sunday. The Warriors swept the team and individual titles at the LCSC Warrior Spring Invitational on Tuesday before three individuals excelled at the UPS Spring Invitational.
The Warrior Golf teams are the second and third LC State teams to earn the conference honor this season, joining women’s basketball.
Alexandra Schmidt and Jorgen Lie Viken each took home medalist honors at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club to help LC State Women’s and Men’s Golf to team wins. The Warrior women won by 89 strokes (608), while the men won by 26 strokes with a score of 10-under 854.
The pair, along with senior Devon Caruso, competed as individuals at the UPS Spring Invitational and all finished in the top four. Viken earned his second win in seven days, Schmidt was second on the women’s side and Caruso finished fourth in the men’s tournament.
