Warrior Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 19 in First Poll of 2025

(Lewiston, ID) In Wednesday’s edition of the NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll, the LC State Women sit at No. 19. The Warriors are 6-2 since the last poll and have won four games in a row.

The Warrior women will face their toughest Cascade Conference weekend of the season so far when they hit the road for contests at No. 4 Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech later this week. The Raiders currently lead the conference with their undefeated record, while the Owls are a half-game up on the Warriors in the standings.

LC State is the top CCC team in field goal percentage (.481), rebounding defense (33.5), blocked shots per game (5.0), steals per game (13.7) and turnover margin (8.88).

Darian Herring, the reigning NAIA Defensive Player of the Week, leads the conference in total assists (69) and blocks (49), and Sitara Byrd leads in steals per game (2.9). Ellie Sander is third in steals per game (2.8). Mataya Green is second in field goal percentage (.602), Herring is fourth (.549) and Sander is fifth (.521).

The Warriors are fourth in the NAIA in field goal percentage, sixth in blocks per game and 11th in steals per game.

Southern Oregon remained the No. 4 team in the NAIA. Oregon Tech is receiving votes and is just outside the top 25.

The Warriors take on SOU in Ashland on Friday before facing OIT in Klamath Falls on Saturday.
