Warrior Women’s Basketball Signs Grangeville’s Madalyn Green

December 19, 2024

(Lewiston, ID)  – Grangeville’s Madalyn Green has signed to join LC State Women’s Basketball for the 2025-26 season. Coach Caelyn Orlandi announced the addition on Thursday.

Green is a four-year letterwinner at nearby Grangeville High School where she averaged 18.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game as a junior. She has helped the Bulldogs to two top-five finishes at State and four district titles. Green was voted the CIL MVP and has twice been named Second-Team All-State. She is a two-time Avista All-Tournament Team honoree and was named the 2024 MVP Idaho Sports Player of the Year and North Idaho Hall of Fame Basketball Player of the Year for 3A-1A.

“I am very excited that Madalyn chose to continue her academic and athletic career as a Warrior,” Orlandi said. “She is an excellent student and has had a fierce desire to be a part of LC State Women’s Basketball. Grangeville High School does a great job with their student-athletes and Madalyn has gotten better every year she has been under Coach Barger’s instruction. What we love about Madalyn is her length, ability to run the floor and her touch around the basket. She is a player that plays under control and has a great finesse to her game. Another added bonus is she has the innate ability to block shots. I look forward to Madalyn joining our LC family next fall and I know she will fit in perfectly with what LC Women’s Basketball is all about.”

Green competed for LC State assistant coach Cali Moore in AAU for Bordertown Basketball. She also played softball and volleyball at Grangeville and was first-team all-league in softball.

“I chose LC State because growing up I was always playing AAU basketball in the Valley and it was always a dream of mine to play college basketball where I felt most comfortable,” Green said. “The coaches and team made me feel at home and that is exactly where I want to be. It always seemed right to play close to home and contribute to a local team and its amazing tradition of women’s basketball.”
