LEWISTON, Idaho – Both the LC State Volleyball and Track and Field teams added to their rosters with the signing of dual-sport athlete Karissa Lindner. The graduate of Mt. Spokane High School will be a Warrior this fall.
“This young lady is an athlete, plus some,” track and field coach Mike Collins said. “I don’t think we even know yet what she is capable of. She may be a short sprinter or long sprinter. She has already had amazing success long jumping and if what we hear about her vertical jump is accurate you have to believe we are going to see if she can high jump. She could be one of the best recruits we have had and excited to see what all she can do.”
Lindner has high-level experience in both sports after helping both high school programs compete at State. The middle blocker aided the Wildcats in a fourth-place finish at State after going undefeated in conference play in volleyball, then went on to place second in the long jump and fifth in the 100m in track and field. She holds a personal-best time of 12.21 in the 100m and hit a mark of 18’1″ in the long jump, which would be a school record at LC State.
“Karissa is an incredible athlete who is going to make an impact on and off the court,” volleyball coach Katie Palmer said. “When you watch her play you can see her love for the game. After meeting Karissa, I knew she would be a great fit for the program and our core values.”
