Water Reservoir Rupture Prompts Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency

The Mayor issued a Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency as a result of the breached water reservoir located in Lewiston. The city has experienced major flooding in multiple homes and businesses, and has compromised consumable water for over 24,000 Lewiston residents. This local disaster emergency poses an imminent threat to public health and safety. The emergency Boil Water Alert Order that was issued remains in effect until further notice.

The City of Lewiston is currently seeking additional resources and assistance.
