Windsor Standout Taylor Boyce Signs with Warrior Volleyball

1/12/2024 | Isley Kuske | Sports Information Intern
LEWISTON, Idaho – Windsor, Calif., native Taylor Boyce has committed to play volleyball for the LC State Warriors in the 2024 season. The 6-0 outside hitter was drawn to LC State by its small community environment and the program that Head Coach Katie Palmer is building.

“This is a truly special moment, not only for Taylor and all the hard work she’s put into becoming a collegiate volleyball player, but also for LC State volleyball,” Palmer said. “Taylor is one of the most decorated prep athletes that LC State volleyball has seen in quite some time.”

During Boyce’s time at Windsor High School, she reached the 1,000-kill mark and helped her team to two undefeated seasons and two league titles. Boyce totaled 953 career kills and 663 digs and added 98 aces during her high school career. In her senior season, the outside hitter averaged 5.1 kills per set and set the Jaguars’ single-season kill record with 466. She did so with an impressive .322 attack percentage. Boyce, who was named to the Best and Brightest All-America team, plans to major in Engineering.

“Taylor’s unwavering commitment to leadership is what convinced our coaching staff that she was the right fit for the program,” Palmer added. “While her volleyball skills are impressive, it takes more than just talent to build a championship team. Her high school experience has prepared her well for the challenge ahead at LC State. We are thrilled to have someone with such a strong foundation exuding our core values join the program.”

Boyce became the first Windsor player to be named to the AVCA All-American Regional Team, doing so in 2023, and is a two-time North Bay League Oak Division MVP. She was named to the Sonoma Valley All-Tournament Team twice. The Press Democrat named Boyce the Volleyball Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023 and she was later featured in Volleyballmag.com as a Dream Team player. Boyce is continuing in her mother’s footsteps in becoming a college athlete as her mother played basketball for Cal State Northridge.
