Women’s Track and Field Jumps to No. 10 in Latest Rating

NEW ORELANS– LC State Women’s Track and Field moved up two spots in Wednesday’s weekly USTFCCCA Track and Field Rating Index of the year. The 79.30 total points has the Warriors ranked No. 10 in the NAIA for the highest indoor mark in program history.

 

Madigan Kelly leads the Warrior women with the highest ranking in the group. The junior from Lewiston currently sits third in the NAIA in the 60m hurdles with a school-record time of 8.49. Geraldin Correa is seventh in the nation in the 800m with her time of 2:16.68.

 

The Warriors saw a great deal of success with their relays over the weekend. The women’s 4x800m relay team of Grace Tiegs, Aubree Williams, Correa and Brooklyn Shell ran the fourth-fastest time in the NAIA this season with 9:26.53. Correa also ran in the 4x400m with Emily Collins, Sara Hathaway, Anika Grogan in the 16th-fastest run in the NAIA this season at 3:59.05.

 

Sydnie Zywina and Jennah Carpenter each hold two standards for indoor nationals. Zywina is ranked sixth in the triple jump with her school-record leap of 11.64m and 19th in the long jump at 5.52m, also a program best. Carpenter is ranked seventh in the high jump (1.68m) and in the pentathlon with her 3,296-point total.

 

Lewiston product Collins ran a provisional standard in the 400m in Spokane over the weekend. She sits 22nd in the NAIA at 57.89. She is 20th in the 600m (1:38.44).
