UPDATE: Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Escaped Juvenile

(Post Falls, ID) –  On June 25th, 2024 at approximately 12:20 hours, detectives from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office were conducting follow-up investigations in reference to the outstanding juvenile escapee from 06/21/2024, from the District One Juvenile Detention Center (JDC).

During the course of their follow-up, a Detective observed Caden J. Schreibeis, entering a residence in the 3000 block of Mountain View Road in Post Falls, Idaho. Kootenai County Sheriff’s Detectives and Patrol Deputies, including a K9, gave verbal commands for Schreibeis to exit the residence. Schreibeis complied with those commands and was arrested without incident.

Schreibeis was booked into JDC for conspiracy to commit escape and escape.

On June 21, 2024 at approximately 1733 hours, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police were notified that two juveniles had escaped from the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center. Both agencies immediately began to search for the two juvenile males. One of them was located in the area of 4th Street and Gregory Lane by Coeur d’Alene Police. The other was last seen running north from the Juvenile Detention Center across Dalton Avenue.

The outstanding juvenile has been identified as 15-year-old Caden J. Schreibeis. He is described as being 5’09” tall, approximately 150 pounds, with medium-length brown hair. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and blue sweatpants.

The other juvenile that was located was booked on injuring a jail facility, conspiracy to commit escape, and escape. He was arrested without incident.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone who has information on Caden’s whereabouts to call (208)446-1300.
