2024 LC State Dance Season Preview

1/25/2024 | Alisha Alexander | Assistant Athletics Director-Sports Information
FREMONT, Neb. – The 2024 Lewis-Clark State Dance squad will make Warrior history on Friday at its first competition as a varsity program. LC State Dance heads to Fremont, Neb., to take part in the Midland Invitational to open the historic season.

Warrior Dance will compete three times during the 2024 season with two competitions on the trip to Nebraska. LC State will compete at the Midland Invitational before a tri-meet with host Midland (Neb.) and Hope International (Calif.) later in the day. The final trip of the year will be to the Dordt Invitational hosted by Dordt (Iowa).

The LC State roster is freshmen heavy with six first-year college students, but anchored by senior leadership in the duo of Brooklynn Menti and Carely Melena. Both enter the season with rich dance histories entering college and were members of the Warrior Spirit club squad in previous years. The roster also features three sophomores that were members of the spirit squad last season as the group prepared for the inaugural campaign.

“The progress each athlete has made and their work ethic is astounding,” coach Christa Davis said. “Our goal for Friday is to perform cleanly, with as few deductions as possible. We are focused on the things that are within our control.”

Friday’s competitions will be streamed by Midland University. Links to the action can be found on the schedule page.
