Warrior Men’s Tennis Victorious in Two Places at Once

LEWISTON – The Lewis-Clark State Men’s Tennis team played double duty on Saturday. The Warriors hosted NCAA Division III Whitworth at the LCSC Tennis Center while half of the team went on the road for their own contest at Whitman. Both resulted in victories for Warrior Tennis.
The two wins push the Warrior winning streak to three and improve their record to 3-2.
MATCH ONE: LC State def. Whitworth 4-3
Matus Rusnak only dropped three games in a straight-set victory over Payton Romey in No. 1 singles. Pavle Markus dropped a total of four in his No. 2 singles win. Rusnak and Markus also teamed up for a 6-4 victory in No. 1 doubles on the day.
Juan Pablo Naranjo needed three sets but earned a hard-fought victory over Jess Weaver in No. 3 singles 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-2. Daniel Tevez and Cornelius Sia took home a No. 2 doubles win.

MATCH TWO: LC State def. Whitman 8-1
The Lewis-Clark State Men’s Tennis team swept the doubles contests and earned an 8-1 victory over Whitman College.
Itaru Kikuchi earned two No. 1 victories on the day. First with a No. 1 doubles win in a tiebreaker with teammate Austin Swing. Kikuchi then swept Lucas Huang in No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-2.
Rafael Bonnett de Larbogne and Nell Rollin teamed up for a No. 2 doubles victory 8-2. Bonnet de Larbogne earned a No. 3 singles win 6-1, 6-2 and Rollin was victorious in No. 4 singles.
Alvaro Camino and Malte Sommer earned a doubles victory together and both went on to take home singles wins along the way.
