(BOISE, ID) – Local education agencies are encouraged to take advantage of approximately $1.5 million in available grant funds to facilitate the operation of out-of-school programs for the 2025 – 2026 school year with the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant program. Funding is available through Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2025.
LEAs, community-based organizations, tribal organizations and other public and private organizations are eligible to apply for funds. 21st CCLC applications will open Monday, December 16. Applications are due Friday, January 31 by 4 p.m. MT.
The 21st CCLC program currently funds 46 grants that serve 98 schools throughout Idaho. Grant funds can be used to offer academic enrichment opportunities, drug and violence prevention programs and other youth development activities to students during non-school hours.
The Idaho Department of Education will host two free regional RFA virtual workshops in November to assist eligible applicants in understanding the process and requirements.
