(Lewiston, ID) After a standout weekend in La Grande, LC State’s Women’s Track and Field’s Sydnie Zywina was voted the NAIA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Zywina had a monster weekend and dominated both the triple jump and the long jump at Eastern Oregon’s Lew Thorne Invite. The senior shattered the school record in the long jump with a distance of 5.78m that ranks fifth in the NAIA, and hit a 12.01m in the triple jump that would rank fourth in the NAIA if not for her 12.02m leap earlier this season.
The Orofino, Idaho, native earned her second Cascade Conference weekly honor of the season and fifth of her career on Monday. This is her first national weekly honor.
LC State Track and Field is back in action this weekend with the team split between the EOU Indoor and Whitworth Indoor.
