Accident in Clarkston Causes Small Fire Quickly Knocked Down by Emergency Responders

Asotin County Fire District # 1 firefighters and Lewiston Medics were called to a car crash and fire just after noon today.

A lone driver escaped serious injury when his car left the road on 22nd Street in the Clarkston Heights area. The vehicle hit a power pole head which sparked a fire in tall dried grass.

Passerbys and neighbors with hoses kept the flames away from structures until the fire department arrived.

The driver walked away from the scene and deputies located him at a residence on Critchfield Road.

There were no other reported injuries. Asotin County Deputies are investigating.
