LEWISTON – In collaboration with community stakeholders, the Adult Resource Center (ARC) is working diligently to establish services aimed at providing essential support to those unhoused or experiencing extreme poverty in the LC Valley. The center’s leadership team understands the urgency of addressing the needs of the unhoused in the community and is actively seeking resources and funding to meet that need. Despite the challenges, they remain steadfast in their commitment to providing services in the community that are long-term and sustainable by September 2024. Should resources become available, and a suitable location be secured, there is potential for an earlier launch date.
During this transitional period, the center is actively collaborating with local service providers and government agencies to explore alternative opportunities to assist individuals seeking emergency shelter and warming services, as well as continuing to provide outreach, referrals, and assistance in accessing resources available in the community.
The Adult Resource Center is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for the most vulnerable in our community and appreciates the ongoing support from volunteers, stakeholders, and the community as a whole.
