April trout stocking schedule for the Clearwater Region

North Central Idaho- April may be known for its unpredictable spring weather, but here is a schedule anglers can rely on to plan their outings.  Personnel from Idaho Fish and Game’s hatcheries in the Clearwater Region will be releasing nearly 24,000 catchable-sized trout at various locations throughout this month!

Robinson Pond- This 2.4 acre scenic pond is located along Lawyer Creek just outside of Kamiah, ID. Anglers can find rainbow trout and bass at this fishery.

Kiwanis Park Pond- This 4.4 acre urban fishing pond is located along the Snake River within the city limits of Lewiston. This popular fishery is stocked frequently throughout the season with rainbow trout.

Tunnel Pond- At less than an acre and stocked with rainbow trout, Tunnel Pond can be found along the Clearwater River outside of Orofino.

Long Gulch Pond- At 5 acres in size, Long Gulch Pond can be found next to hwy 95 between White Bird and Riggins along the Salmon River.

Tolo Lake- This lake near Grangeville, ID provides over 36 acres of fishing opportunity!

Hordemann Pond- This less than 1 acre urban fishing pond is located at Kiwanis Park within the eastside of Moscow city limits. This pond provides good early spring fishing.

Mann Lake- This 136 acre lake is just outside of Lewiston city limits. It has good spring fishing and bird watching opportunities.

Winchester Lake- This 103 acre lake is located just outside of the town of Winchester. It is surrounded by Winchester State Park within the trees and is a great location for families to enjoy camping, hiking, fishing and canoeing. It has a diversity of fishing access points at various points around the reservoir.

Spring Valley Reservoir- This very popular reservoir is located just east of Troy, ID and is home to a diversity of fish species. Camping is managed by Latah County Parks.

Lake Waha- This 94 acre lake only has one small public access site on Lake Waha as the majority of the lake shoreline is privately owned.  This IDFG access site provides a dock and boat ramp which provides boaters the opportunity to fish the lake.  Because the water levels can fluctuate greatly on Lake Waha, there are times in the spring when the dock is not accessible from shore.  This site is managed mostly for boaters, and swimming is not allowed at this site.

The number of trout actually released may be altered by weather, water conditions, equipment problems or schedule changes. If delays occur, trout will be stocked when conditions become favorable. Contact the Clearwater Regional office for more information (208) 799-5010.
