Asotin County Deputy Michael Babino Placed on Administrative Leave With 2 Counts of 4th-Degree Assault Charges Pending

On October 28, 2022, charging documents were filed with the District Court in Asotin County against Deputy Michael Babino of the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office.

The documents listed two counts of 4th-degree assault alleged to have occurred during an arrest on June 18th, 2022. The case is being handled by Prosecutor Dale Slack from Columbia County.

Deputy Babino’s first court appearance will be on November 16th, 2022 at 1:30 p.m.
Deputy Babino was placed on unpaid administrative leave on November 2, 2022, while this case is pending.
