Caldwell Man Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash South of Lapwai

LEWISTON – The Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on April 26, 2024, at 11:10 a.m.

A maroon 2011 Kia Sorento, driven by a 63-year-old male from Caldwell, ID, was traveling southbound on US95 near milepost 297, approximately 3 miles south of Lapwai in Nez Perce County.  The driver drifted onto the right shoulder and continued into a private driveway near Maamin Drive. The vehicle traveled a short distance before striking a tree and coming to rest leaning against a power pole. Residential power was interrupted for an undetermined time.

The male driver was transported to a local hospital.

Assisting agencies are Nez Perce Tribal Police, Lewiston Fire Department, and Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.
