On Friday September 13, 2024, Clarkston Police Officers responded to the Clarkston High School campus in reference to a subject wearing all black and carrying a backpack with an “AR style magazine” sticking out of it. The subject was not located and last seen walking away from the school prior to the officer’s arrival.
On Tuesday September 17, 2024, the subject reported at CHS was located at his residence. He and his parent were cooperative with investigators. Several students who accompanied the individual while on and off campus that evening was interviewed. They denied any knowledge of weapons. Investigators found no confirmation of any weapons or weapon accessories. Interviews determined the individual may have been at the school to meet a friend. The investigation did not reveal any current or past threats made by this individual towards students, staff, or facilities. The individual is not a student and out of caution has been trespassed from all Clarkston School District buildings.
Efforts have been made to gather information from recent social media posts warning about the potential for violence at schools. It has been determined that no one receiving these posts knows the original source of the information. Investigators examined numerous phones; it appears these online messages started with a picture taken from an anonymous post on snap chat. At this time no one has come forward with further details.
