COTTONWOOD – Eli Rad is back home and almost completely healed after he suffered serious burns to 76% of his body in a horrific accident in February. It’s been a grueling road to recovery since the Lifeflight to Seattle on the day of the incident. Now the father of two young girls, four and one, is happy to be back home with his family. However, at the same time, his family is shouldering the burden of excessive medical bills for the treatment Eli has already received and will need in the future.

“The doctors think that laser treatment could really be beneficial for him. Unfortunately, it is not covered by insurance,” Jenny, Eli’s wife, wrote on GoFundMe. “We have not got exact numbers but it sounds like a round of treatment can cost upwards of $30,000 & the doctors think he could maybe need 2 or 3.”

That $30,000 is on top of the tens of thousands the family has already been charged thus far. Thankfully the community continues to step up for Eli. The GoFundMe started after the incident has raised more than $50,000. Here is the fundraiser link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/eli-rad-recovery
