Fatal Crash on US95 at Red Duck Lane in Lapwai

LAPWAI – The Idaho State Police is investigating a collision that occurred October 13 around 6:22 PM on US95 north of Lapwai in Nez Perce County.  A gray Ford pickup driven by a 43-year-old male from Lewiston was traveling southbound on US95 when he went left of center and struck a semi traveling northbound. 

The Ford sustained damage from that collision, then struck a gray Chevy pickup that was northbound on US95.  The driver and front passenger of the Chevy pickup was declared deceased at the scene.  The rear passenger of the Chevy pickup was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital.  The driver of the Ford pickup was evaluated and medically released. 

The driver of the semi was not injured.  The Roadway was blocked in both directions for approximately 5.5 hours for emergency responders to investigate and clear the scene.  This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
