Idaho State Police are investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on March 1, 2023, at approximately 5:54 p.m. at SH53 near Church Road, between Rathdrum and Hauser, Idaho.
A gray 2014 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 26-year-old male from Sandpoint, Idaho, was traveling westbound on SH53 when it crossed left of center and struck a white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 58-year-old female from Priest River, Idaho, traveling eastbound on SH53.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was transported to a nearby hospital via ground ambulance. The driver of the Toyota succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
