Five Warrior Women Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

(Lewiston, ID) – Three LC State women’s golfers and two dancers wrapped up the 2023-24 school year with CSC Academic All-District Honors.

In order to be named CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes must compete in a minimum number of competitions and be a key contributor on the team.

Deana Caruso earned the honor for the third time in her career as a fifth-year senior. The Pomeroy, Wash., native graduated with her degree in Graphic Communications this spring after earning all-conference honors for the fourth time in her career. She finished fifth in the CCC in scoring average this season (78.1) and tallied six top-10 finishes.

Kyla Currie, a native of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, brought home the award for the second year in a row after graduating with a degree in Kinesiology. The two-time All-Cascade Conference honoree was eighth in the CCC in scoring average this season (79.8) and was voted the CCC Golfer of the Week twice. The senior had four top-three finishes throughout the season and three top-two placements.

Sophomore Dallis Shockey of women’s golf earned her first CSC honor as she works towards her degree in Business Management. The Paul, Idaho, native played in all nine tournaments for the Warriors and earned a fourth-place finish at the Logger Invitational.

Dancers Carely Melena and Kaylee Howe represented the inaugural Warrior Dance team as members of the CSC Academic All-District team. Melena graduated this spring with a degree in Paralegal Studies, while Howe wrapped up her sophomore year as an Elementary Education major.
