GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four LC State Women’s Basketball players earned the distinction of College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, announced by the group formerly known as CoSIDA on Tuesday. Hannah Broyles, Maddie Holm, Sara Muehlhausen and Callie Stevens excelled in the classroom and on the court to grow the list of Warrior Women’s Basketball honorees in program history to nine.
A student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing with a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve. Institutions are allowed a maximum of four nominations for the sport of women’s basketball.
“I continued to be amazed by our players, both on the court and in this case, in the classroom,” Head Coach Brian Orr said. “This honor is really about their individual commitment to excellence as a student-athletes. With that as a goal, they all continue to build impressive resumes that demonstrate proven success.”
Broyles, a senior from Moscow, leads the Warrior women in 3-pointers made this season with 81 and 3-point percentage at .368. She has scored a career-high 366 points so far this season and is third on the team with 47 steals. Broyles maintains a 3.50 GPA as a Kinesiology major.
LC State’s top rebounder, Holm is averaging 8.2 boards per game while scoring 9.4 points per game. She is third on the team in field goal percentage (.456) and second in 3-point percentage (.361). The junior has 45 steals and 15 blocks so far this season. Holm holds a 3.80 GPA in Nursing.
Muehlhausen is one block away from tying her single-season career-best with 64 so far this season. The senior from Hayden, Idaho continues to climb the LC State record books with a firm grip on third place in career blocks with 156. Entering the CCC tournament, she is shooting .483 from the field which ranks second on the team. Muehlhausen has a 3.67 GPA and is majoring in Biology.
The 2021-22 Cascade Conference Player of the Year, Stevens leads LC State in scoring so far this season with 15.0 points per game. The junior scored the 1,000th point of her career on Saturday and is now in the Warriors’ top 10 in 3-pointers made for her career (159). She is second on the team in 3-pointers made this season with 66 so far. Stevens has a GPA of 3.71 as a Business Informatics major.
