Four Warrior Women’s Golfers Earn WGCA Academic Honors

July 12, 2024

(Lewiston, ID) Four members of the Lewis-Clark State Women’s Golf team earned high academic praise from the WGCA (Women’s Golf Coaches Association) with WGCA All-American Scholar Honors. Chase Caruso, Deana Caruso, Kyla Currie and Dallis Shockey each brought home the award.

“I am very proud of our women’s team and their accomplishments in the classroom,” Head Coach Zach Anderson said. “They know they are students first and the ultimate goal is to walk across that stage at the end of their time as a Warrior. We have high academic standards on our team and these ladies crushed the goals we set while also competing at a high level athletically. Happy to see their hard work rewarded by being named WGCA All-American Scholars.”

To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have played in 50% of the team’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Chase Caruso finished her freshman season as a Business major with a 3.94 GPA, and sister Deana Caruso earned her degree in Graphic Communications with a 3.56 GPA. Senior Currie graduated with her degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science with a 3.77 grade point average, and sophomore Shockey earned a GPA of 3.98 as a Business Management major.
