Grangeville Man Arrested For Possession of Drugs & Paraphernalia

(Idaho County) On October 21, 2024, at approximately 1:34 PM, Idaho County Dispatch received a report of a male subject sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle drinking alcohol. The reporting party advised the male was in a pullout outside of Harpster, Idaho appeared to be heavily intoxicated and had been parked there for several days.

Idaho County deputies were dispatched and once on scene, K9 Millie and her handler performed an open-air sniff of the vehicle and K9 Millie alerted. A vehicle search was then conducted, and methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia were found.

Dewayne Smith, age 53, of Grangeville, Idaho, was arrested and booked into the Idaho County Jail for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
