Gregory Lanoue Arrested After Off Duty Deputy Finds him with Stolen Vehicle

On February 20, 2024, at approximately 7:30 AM, an Idaho County deputy was on routine patrol in Stites, when a citizen flagged him down. He wanted to report his Chevorlet Silverado pickup stolen. He had last seen the pickup the day before and had just noticed it was missing. A stolen vehicle report was taken.

Around 1:00 PM, an off-duty Idaho County deputy was driving on Highway 13, and saw the pickup parked in a pullout near milepost 19.

Idaho County deputies responded and spoke to a man who was standing by the open door of the pickup. After speaking with him, he was subsequently arrested.

Gregory Lanoue, age 54, of Stevensville, Montana was arrested for felony grand theft, felony burglary, and felony possession of a stolen vehicle.
