Head-On Collision on US 95 Sends One Man to the Hospital

WINCHESTER – On November 18, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Idaho State Police responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision, southbound on US 95 near milepost 278, Lewis County, Idaho.

A gray, 2011 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on US 95 near milepost 278. A 2016, Freightliner semi-truck was traveling northbound. The Freightliner failed to yield and began to turn onto Winchester Rd. The Honda was unable to avoid a collision and struck the Freightliner head-on.

The driver of the Honda, an 18-year-old male, suffered minor injuries and was transported via ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. The passenger of the Honda, a 19-year-old male, was trapped in the vehicle. He was later transported via LifeFlight to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Freightliner suffered no injuries. All individuals were wearing their seat belts.

The roadway was closed and reduced to one lane for 3 hours.
