House Fire 3109 6th Street

Lewiston, ID- Released by the City of Lewiston Fire Department

At approximately 8:06 pm the department was dispatched to a smoke investigation. First arriving crews found a light amount of smoke outside coming from a basement window. Crews discovered a room on fire in the basement after making entry to the home.

Crews attacked the fire with several hose lines and the fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes. Crews remained on scene for nearly 2 hours.

Resources: The department responded with 3 structural engines, 3 ambulances, 1 chief officer, 2 fire investigators, 2 auto-aid engines, and on special resource vehicle.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The estimated damage to the structure and contents is $30,000

There were no citizen or firefighter injuries to report.
