Idaho County Police Arrest Suspect Involved in Montana Car Theft

(White Bird, ID) On December 20, 2024, at approximately 10:00 PM, Idaho County Dispatch received a call  advising there was a possible stolen vehicle in the White Bird area. The vehicle was stolen from  Miles City, Montana. 

The suspect of the stolen vehicle was a registered violent offender for assault on a peace officer. Idaho County deputies responded to the area and located the suspect and stolen vehicle. 

Leslie Mabrey, age 64, was arrested for felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony unlawful  possession of a firearm, felony battery on an officer (6 counts), misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence of alcohol, felony threats and other improper influence in official  and political matters, and misdemeanor resisting and obstructing (11 counts). 

Sheriff Ulmer wishes to thank the Grangeville City Police, the Idaho State Police, and the  Cottonwood Police Department for their assistance on this incident.
