Idaho Educators Invited to 31st Annual Prevention and Support Conference

(Boise, ID) Teachers, administrators and educational stakeholders are again invited to connect and collaborate with peers and thought leaders at the Idaho Department of Education’s annual Prevention and Support Conference. This year’s conference will be held April 16 – 18 in Sun Valley. Registration is now open.

The Prevention and Support Conference provides professional development focused on innovation, best practices and peer-to-peer collaboration to effectively meet the needs of historically underserved student populations. This year’s event will feature a day dedicated to learning tracks and another day dedicated to collaborative open sessions. Learning tracks provide attendees the opportunity to learn about a specialized topic in-depth over the full day, while open sessions allow conference participants the flexibility to choose from sessions covering a variety of topics.

“Fostering connection and engagement with students and families is a skill that takes dedication and practice, and the Idaho Prevention and Support Conference is designed to give educators the tools they need to make a difference,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield. “I hope you’ll join us in collaborating with a group of people who understand the challenges and rewards of reaching students who need our help the most.”

Learning track options will include:

  • School culture
  • Suicide prevention
  • Substance misuse
  • Student health

The registration fee is $195 and a discounted lodging rate will be offered to conference participants.
