KCSO Traffic Unit Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash

(Kootenai County, ID) – On September 15, 2024, at approximately 6:06 PM, deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) responded to a report of a single motorcycle crash on Ramsey Road near Brunner Road. The initial report was made by a passerby who discovered the crashed motorcycle and an unconscious rider.

Upon arrival, deputies and medical personnel confirmed that the rider, identified as 45-year-old Johnny Pankoke of Athol, was deceased. The KCSO Traffic Unit is currently investigating the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that no other vehicles were involved, and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.
