KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis-Clark State Men’s Basketball continued to make its climb up the NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll on Wednesday with a move to No. 21. The Warriors are 5-1 on the season, with the lone loss coming on a buzzer beater at No. 5 Montana Tech.

The Warriors opened the season with a 4-0 record after victories over Haskell Indian Nations (Kan.), Providence (Mont.) and Carroll (Mont.) before facing Montana Tech in Butte. LC State opened Cascade Conference play on Tuesday with a 94-59 win over Walla Walla (Wash.) in which five players scored in double-figures.

The Warriors currently lead the CCC in rebounding margin (14.2) and are second in both rebounding offense (40.7) and rebounding defense (26.5). They are the only team in the top two of both. LC State is shooting .502 as a team.

Alton Hamilton leads the conference in both scoring (21.8) and rebounding (11.4) and is in the top 15 of the NAIA in both. He ranks ninth in the nation in rebounding. The Warrior depth has been showcased this season with four Warriors averaging nearly 10 points per game. MaCarhy Morris, who scored 20 in Tuesday, sits at 15.8 points per game, Taden King is averaging 10.0 and John Lustig is just behind at 9.8.

CCC opponent College of Idaho dropped to No. 4 and Oregon Tech fell below LC State to No. 25. LC State is the only Cascade Conference school to have both basketball teams in the top 25 with the women at No. 14.

The Warriors hit the road for four contests before returning home Dec. 20 and 21. LC State heads to Seattle Dec. 6-7 to face Northwest (Wash.) and Evergreen State (Wash.).
