OLYMPIA, Wash. – Sitara Byrd was the difference maker in No. 14 LC State Women’s Basketball’s eight victory of the season in a come-from-behind win over Evergreen State College (Wash.) on Saturday. The junior scored 12 points in the second half to lead the Warriors to a 55-46 win.

The Geoducks led for much of the game and capitalized on a strong game from 3-point range. The Warrior defense stepped up late in the to deny long-range shots and found Byrd offensively to turn things around.

“Finding ways to win on the road is very important and I am glad we found a way to win,” Head Coach Caelyn Orlandi said. “I thought we did a good job of finding Sitara when she had it rolling. Mataya (Green) was great on the boards and did a great job defensively for us. One of those games that we will learn from, get better from and look forward to the next one.”

LC State is now 8-0 on the season and 3-0 in Cascade Conference play.
