KANSAS CITY, MO. – Warrior Golf is on a tear, and team leaders Jorgen Lie Viken and Alexandra Schmidt have another accolade to add to their already impressive month of March. Both were named the NAIA Golfers of the Week to give LC State Golf a clean sweep of the national award.

The pair are the second and third Warriors to earn the award at the national level this school year, joining track and field’s Jennah Carpenter.

JORGEN LIE VIKEN – MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Viken had a dominant week with back-to-back wins in less than seven days. The senior, ranked No. 6 as an individual by Golfstat, won the LCSC Warrior Spring Invitational with a 7-under total of 209 to win by two strokes. After Tuesday’s win, the Kongsberg, Norway, native competed at the UPS Spring Invitational over the weekend. He shot an LC State career-low round of 66 to win the tournament with a 4-under 138 for the two-round tournament.

This is Viken’s first national honor in his career.

Schmidt had a busy week with two tournaments and placed in the top two in both. The senior won the LCSC Warrior Spring Invite for the second victory of her career. She finished 1-under in Lewiston with rounds of 71 and 22 for a 143 two-round total.
