LC State Students to Honor David Walker With a Tree

Lewiston, Idaho – The Associated Students of Lewis-Clark State College (ASLCSC) and the college’s Arboretum Committee will hold a special tree planting ceremony on Tuesday, May 23, to honor David Walker for his continued support of LC State students and the community.

The event begins at 10 a.m. along 6th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. The event is free and open to the public.

Walker works in both the LC State mailroom and for the athletic department. He has been a part of the college since the early 1990s and has worked in a variety of jobs on campus. He is also a regular at many LC State events.

The event also serves as a belated Arbor Day celebration, which will include recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation for both LC State and the city of Lewiston. LC State was honored with a Tree Campus Higher Education award and the city of Lewiston was honored with a Tree City award.

For more information on the event, contact Carrie Kyser with the LC State Arboretum Committee at clkyer@lcsc.edu or call 208-792-2556.
