LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will hold a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the college’s library parking lot, near the intersection of 7th Avenue and 5th Street in Lewiston.
The event, which is free and open to the public, allows for the safe disposal of unused or expired medications. Those turning in medications are asked to leave the medication in the original container. On the container, leave information about the drug, but black out any personal information, including name.
Medications that will be accepted include prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, pet medications, vitamins, and supplements.
Syringes, needles, liquids, and inhalers will not be accepted. Also, no refunds will be given.
The event is sponsored by the community coalition Resources Empowering Action for Community Health (REACH), the Lewiston Police Department, and LC State. LC State nursing students will help during the event.
