LC State Track and Field Lands Both Teams in USTFCCCA Top 20

NEW ORLEANS – Both LC State Track and Field teams checked in as top-20 teams in the USTFCCCA Outdoor Track and Field Rating Index, released on Wednesday. The Warrior women lead the way at No. 10 and the men are rated No. 19 in the NAIA. The women earned 190.41 points in the index while the men totaled 98.32.

 

Senior Kea Stieglitz is the leading point-earner for the Warrior women with 34.52 points thanks to her NAIA-best mark of 42.30m in the javelin. She is currently the top-ranked NAIA competitor in the event. Jennah Carpenter earned 27.98 points in the high jump where she ranks third (1.65m) and Madigan Kelly brought in 47.83 points with her No. 4 time in the 100m hurdles (14.42) and No. 6 time in the 400m hurdles (1:03.22). Geraldin Correa earned 21.64 points in the 800m where she ranks sixth (2:15.89).

On the men’s side, Carter Gordon leads the way with 28.64 points in the 800m. He ranks third in the event with a time of 1:52.08. The 4x400m relay team of Ike Hopper, Preston Cooper, Trenton Johnson and London Kirk earned 26.58 points with their fourth-ranked time of 3:18.48, and Griffen Parsells added 19.58 points with his seventh-ranked 800m time of 1:53.38. Kirk also earned individual points in the 400m with his 10th-ranked time in the NAIA (47.97).
