(GREENWOOD, Ind.) – Warrior Tennis had two student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, with both doing so for the second time in their careers. Austin Swing and Maria Eduarda Santos da Silva both excelled on the tennis court and in the classroom.
In order to be named CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. In tennis, a nominee must be in the lineup for 70% for the total matches played by the team that count towards the team record.
“These two have certainly been consistent with their performances on the courts and in the classrooms throughout the year. They are excellent students and they are regularly in the lineup,” Head Coach Kai Fong said. “This selective award speaks loudly of their efforts as it carries a playing component with it. They are very deserving recipients.”
Junior Swing holds a 3.96 grade point average as a business communications major. He finished the season with four singles wins and was part of nine victories in doubles play. Fellow junior Silva maintains a 3.86 grade point average as a business major. She had six singles wins on the season to go with five doubles victories.
