Lewis-Clark State’s Nick Seamons and Madigan Kelly Earn Cascade Conference Weekly Honors

Lewiston, ID – LC State continued its trend of capturing Cascade Conference Rize Laboratory Athlete of the Week awards with two for the week of March 13-19. Baseball’s Nick Seamons and track and field’s Madigan Kelly each earned their second honor of the season.
NICK SEAMONS – BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Seamons slugged his way to a 1.095 slugging percentage over the weekend with four home runs and a double. The Cascade Conference leader in homers (10) hit two in each game on Sunday and went 10-for-21 (.476) at the plate. The San Diego native knocked in six runs and scored eight while leading LC with 23 total bases on the weekend.
This is Seamons’ second weekly honor of the season.
Warrior Baseball travels to UBC this weekend for a four-game Cascade Conference series in Vancouver, B.C.
MADIGAN KELLY – WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Kelly ran the fastest 100m hurdles in the NAIA this season with an A standard time of 14.22. She bested the field by more than half a second and holds the only automatic ticket to nationals so far this year. She also ran a personal-best time of 12.54 in the 100m dash.
This is the second weekly honor for Kelly this season and sixth of her career.
LC State Track and Field competes at the Bucs Scoring and Multi March 23-24.
