Lewiston Civic Theatre presents Peter and the Starcatcher, March 22 – April 7, 2024

The Lewiston Civic Theatre is thrilled to bring a whimsical, wonderful theatrical adventure to the stage. This Tony award winning show, Peter and the Starcatcher, unfolds and the audience discovers the origin of the beloved Peter Pan story. There is magic, music, pirates, mermaids, and a lot of imagination as this clever prequel details how Peter got his name and Captain Hook lost his hand.

We have a wonderful company of actors who bring this imaginative story to life. Directed by Amanda Marzo, with musical direction by Sarah Melissa Daniels. Peter and the Starcatcher is a theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novel. It was conceived for the stage by directors, Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, and written by Rick Elice. Our band is made up of Sam Weeks and Gabi Segren on the keyboards and Micah Grow as our percussionist. Not only does our band play music throughout the play, but all of the sound effects from door creaks to thunder are made from found objects and different unique instruments.

The show will be performed at the old LHS Auditorium on the Normal Hill Campus. It’s located at 1114 9th Avenue in Lewiston. The show will be performed on March 22, 23, 29, 30, April 5, 6 at 7pm. There are also matinees on March 24, 30 and April 7th  at 2 PM. Please note there is no performance on March 31 (Easter Sunday)

All programming at Lewiston Civic Theatre is made possible through the support of the City of Lewiston.
Founded in 1964, the Lewiston Civic Theatre productions played in the Porthouse in downtown Lewiston. The Porthouse no longer stands, due to constant water damage from the tides of the Snake River, which were known to flood – but not cancel a show. As LCT survived those tides, so has it survived the search for a new home. While the performance spaces moved from time to time throughout the years, always resilient, the Lewiston Civic Theatre has proven that theater is the people that create it, not the building that houses it.  Currently, season productions are performed at the former Lewiston High School Auditorium (1114 9th Ave, Lewiston, ID 83501), also known as the Normal Hill Campus in special arrangement with the Lewiston Independent School District. The Lewiston Civic Theatre is committed to be a creative home for actors, directors, and designers to collaborate and enrich the cultural life of the LC Valley and surrounding areas. We are an inclusive organization that welcomes and encourages participation and volunteers from all our community at large. Lewiston Civic Theatre is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that offers theatrical productions and theater education opportunities year-round.
